Possible Causes
Broken or worn lid locking arms, Jammed lock mechanism due to food residue, Failed lock motor or actuator, Misaligned lid or bowl preventing lock engagement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Thermomix before attempting to free a jammed lock. Do not force the lid open with tools.
- Clean lock area: Carefully clean around the lid rim and locking arms to remove dried food or residue.
- Gentle movement: With the unit unplugged, gently move the locking arms by hand (if accessible) to feel for mechanical obstruction. Do not apply excessive force.
- Power cycle: Plug in and attempt a lock/unlock cycle via the controls. Listen for the lock motor. No sound may indicate motor failure.
- Service requirement: If the arms are broken or the lock motor does not operate, the lid lock assembly should be replaced by an authorized service center.
