Possible Causes
Worn or cracked shaft seal around blade assembly, Damaged O-ring in blade housing, Over-tightened or improperly seated blade set, Cracked bowl base around shaft area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and remove the bowl. Do not operate the Thermomix with liquid leaking into the base.
- Inspect blade assembly: Remove the blade set from the bowl according to the manual. Check the shaft seal and O-rings for cracks, flattening, or food buildup.
- Clean and reseat: Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces on the bowl and blade housing. Reassemble carefully, ensuring the blade set is fully locked and seated.
- Leak test: Fill the bowl with cold water and let it sit on the counter (not on the machine) for 10–15 minutes. If water leaks from the shaft area, the seal is defective.
- Replace parts: Install a new genuine blade set or seal kit compatible with your Thermomix model. If the bowl base is cracked, replace the entire mixing bowl.
- Check base for damage: If liquid has entered the base, allow the machine to dry completely and have it inspected by a technician to rule out corrosion or short circuits.
