Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before any inspection. Allow the unit to cool completely if it was recently used.
- Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly several times. Make sure no rice, food residue, or warped gasket is preventing the lid from fully closing and engaging the lock tab.
- Inspect lid lock area: Look at the metal or plastic latch on the lid and the corresponding slot on the body. Clean away any debris with a soft brush and a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
- Test lid switch engagement: With the unit unplugged, gently press the lid lock tab (on the body) with a non-metal tool and listen/feel for a distinct click from the microswitch. If there is no click or it feels mushy, the switch may be faulty or misaligned.
- Check hinge and lid alignment: Verify the lid sits evenly all around the rim. If the hinge is bent or loose, tighten accessible hinge screws. Do not force the lid; this can crack the housing.
- Reset the cooker: Plug the unit back in, press Cancel/Off, then select a basic cooking mode (e.g., White Rice or Plain Cook) and close the lid firmly until you hear the lock engage. If E01 persists, the lid lock assembly or control board likely needs replacement.
When to stop: If you must press hard on the lid to clear the error, or the lid will not lock securely, discontinue use and have the lid lock assembly professionally replaced.
