Possible Causes

Failed lid-mounted NTC sensor, Loose lid sensor harness in hinge area, Corroded connector at main PCB, Damage from repeated steam exposure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Do not open the lid if the cooker is under pressure.

  • Inspect lid underside: Open the lid and examine the underside where the steam cap, inner lid, and sensor area are located. Look for discoloration, corrosion, or loose parts near the sensor.
  • Clean steam cap and inner lid: Remove the steam cap and inner lid (if removable per Tiger's instructions). Wash them with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry completely. Ensure no moisture remains around the sensor area.
  • Check hinge wiring (if visible): Some Tiger models route the lid sensor wires through the hinge. With the unit unplugged, gently inspect the hinge area for pinched or broken wires.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the inner lid and steam cap correctly. Plug in the cooker and try a non-pressure program first. If E05 appears even on low-heat modes, the lid sensor circuit is likely faulty.
  • Professional repair: Replacing a lid sensor often requires disassembling the lid and hinge, which can be complex. Seek service if the error persists after cleaning and drying.
