Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Clogged safety valve, Excessive food or foaming ingredients, Faulty pressure sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not cover or block the steam vent. If the cooker is actively venting, keep hands and face away. Allow pressure to release fully and unplug the unit.
- Check fill level: Open the lid after pressure is fully released. Ensure food and liquid are below the maximum fill line, especially for beans, porridge, or foamy dishes.
- Clean steam and safety valves: Remove the steam cap and any removable pressure or safety valves. Clean them thoroughly with warm soapy water, removing starch buildup. Use a toothpick or soft brush to clear small holes (do not enlarge them).
- Inspect gasket and float valve: Check the main lid gasket and float valve for damage or stiffness. Replace if cracked or hardened.
- Avoid foamy ingredients: For high-foam foods (oatmeal, beans), use recommended amounts and consider adding a bit of oil to reduce foaming.
- If E08 recurs with normal loads: The pressure sensor or control logic may be misreading pressure. Discontinue pressure use and seek professional service.
