Possible Causes
Food trapped under lid gasket, Dirty steam cap and condensation collector, Porous inner pot coating holding odors, Mold growth in hidden areas
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure it is cool before deep cleaning.
- Disassemble for cleaning: Remove the inner pot, inner lid, steam cap, condensation collector, and lid gasket (if removable). Wash all removable parts with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry.
- Clean lid and housing: Wipe the underside of the lid, gasket groove, and inner walls with a cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution. Avoid soaking the main body.
- Deodorize: Cook a cycle with water and a few tablespoons of white vinegar in the inner pot, then rinse thoroughly.
- Dry thoroughly: Leave the lid open when not in use to allow moisture to escape and prevent mold.
