Possible Causes
Damaged or hardened lid gasket, Gasket not seated properly, Excessive fill level, Blocked steam vent causing back pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Unplug the cooker once safe and allow it to cool.
- Check fill level: Ensure food and liquid are below the maximum line, especially for porridge or beans.
- Inspect and clean gasket: Remove the lid gasket if removable. Wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Clean the groove and lid surface as well.
- Re-seat or replace gasket: Reinstall the gasket evenly without twists. If it is cracked, flattened, or stiff, replace it with a genuine Tiger gasket.
- Clean steam vent: Remove and clean the steam cap and vent path to ensure steam can escape properly.
