Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Clogged anti-block shield or steam vent, Sticking float valve, Faulty pressure sensor calibration on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the cooker to cool and fully depressurize before removing any parts from the lid.

  • 1. Clean steam path: Remove the steam release valve, anti-block shield, and float valve components. Soak in warm soapy water and scrub away any starch buildup. Ensure all holes are clear.
  • 2. Inspect silicone seals: Check the silicone cap on the float valve and the seal on the steam release valve. Replace if cracked, hardened, or deformed.
  • 3. Check for lid warping: Ensure the lid inner plate sits flat and the gasket seals evenly around the pot. Warped components can cause uneven pressure and trigger E6.
  • 4. Verify correct liquid level: Overfilling or using thick sauces can cause rapid pressure spikes. Follow Toshiba’s minimum and maximum fill lines and use sufficient water.
  • 5. Sensor and PCB check: If E6 persists after cleaning and correct usage, inspect the pressure sensor and its wiring as in the E4 procedure. Replace the pressure sensor module if necessary.

Do not block or modify the steam release valve to avoid E6; this is extremely dangerous.
