Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main PCB, Damaged touch panel or keypad board, Liquid ingress into control panel, Failed main control PCB interface

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the top or front housing.

  • 1. Power cycle: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E9 reappears immediately, proceed.
  • 2. Inspect control panel: Remove the front/top bezel to access the control panel. Check for signs of moisture, corrosion, or cracks in the touch panel.
  • 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect the flat ribbon cable or harness between the control panel and main PCB. Inspect for bent pins or damage, then reconnect firmly.
  • 4. Dry out moisture: If there is evidence of liquid ingress, gently dry the area with a soft cloth and allow the unit to air dry for 24 hours in a warm, dry place before reassembly.
  • 5. Replace faulty panel: If some buttons never respond or the panel is physically damaged, replace the Toshiba control panel/keypad board assembly.
  • 6. If still faulty: The main PCB may have a failed interface IC. Replacement of the main control board is recommended.

Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the control panel; apply to a cloth first to prevent future damage.
