Possible Causes
Firmware error on main PCB, Multiple sensor readings out of range, Internal memory corruption, Power surge damage to control electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before opening the unit. If under warranty, contact Toshiba service first.
- 1. Hard reset: Unplug the cooker for at least 15 minutes. Press and hold the Start/Cancel button (if possible) for 10 seconds while unplugged to discharge residual power. Plug back in and test.
- 2. Check power source: Verify the outlet voltage is stable and within the range specified on the rating label. Avoid using long extension cords or power strips.
- 3. Inspect internal wiring: Remove the bottom cover and check for any obvious shorts, burnt components, or loose connectors on the main PCB.
- 4. Sensor sanity check: If accessible, disconnect one sensor at a time (bottom NTC, lid NTC, pressure sensor) and see if the error code changes to a specific E-code. This can help identify a failed sensor.
- 5. Firmware/PCB replacement: If 'Err' persists and no discrete hardware fault is found, the main control PCB firmware or memory is likely corrupted. Replace the main PCB with a Toshiba-specified part.
Do not attempt to reprogram firmware without official Toshiba tools and files; this can permanently damage the unit.
