Possible Causes
Lid opened or not fully locked during pressure, Faulty lid lock sensor, Sudden loss of pressure due to gasket failure, Pressure sensor glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Never attempt to open the lid while under pressure. Allow full depressurization first.
- 1. User check: Ensure the lid was not manually opened or forced during cooking. Always wait for float valve to drop before opening.
- 2. Gasket and valve inspection: Check the lid gasket, float valve, and steam release valve for damage or mis-seating that could cause sudden pressure loss.
- 3. Lid lock sensor test: Inspect and test the lid lock microswitch as in the E5 procedure. Replace if it intermittently reports lid open.
- 4. Pressure sensor check: Inspect the pressure sensor and tube for loose connections that could cause sudden reading changes.
If U12 repeats without user error, discontinue use until the lid lock and pressure system are inspected by a technician.
