Possible Causes
Steam release valve stuck partially open, Anti-block shield missing or installed incorrectly, Overfilled inner pot above max line, Blocked condensate collector or channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Keep hands away from hot steam. Allow the unit to cool before disassembly.
- 1. Check fill level: Ensure food and liquid are below the MAX line indicated inside the Toshiba inner pot.
- 2. Inspect steam release valve: Remove and clean the valve and its silicone components. Reinstall according to the manual, ensuring it is set to the correct position for pressure cooking.
- 3. Anti-block shield: Confirm the anti-block shield (small metal or plastic cover over the steam outlet) is present and correctly clipped in place.
- 4. Condensate collector: Empty and clean the external condensate collector and the channel leading to it. Blockages can cause water to back up and leak from the lid.
Do not cover the steam vent with cloths or foil to reduce steam; this is unsafe.
