Possible Causes
Loose mains input connector, Failing internal power supply capacitor on PCB, Partially broken power cord conductors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before inspection. Do not operate with exposed wiring.
- Test on different outlet: Rule out house wiring issues by trying another socket on a different circuit.
- Inspect cord and plug: Flex the cord gently along its length; if the display flickers when moved (test only with the unit off and then on again), the cord may be internally damaged and should be replaced.
- Check internal connections: Open the base and verify that the live and neutral wires are firmly secured in their terminals. Tighten any loose screws.
- Look for bulging capacitors: On the PCB, inspect electrolytic capacitors in the power supply area. Bulging tops or leakage indicate failure and require board or component replacement.
Persistent flickering usually points to a failing PCB power supply and should be addressed by a technician.
