Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Do not add cold water to a very hot inner pot as it may warp.
- Check inner pot and contents: Ensure the non-stick inner pot is correctly seated and that there is sufficient liquid for the selected program. Pressure and rice programs require minimum liquid levels as specified in the Tower manual.
- Clean heating plate: Remove the inner pot and inspect the aluminium heating plate. Wipe away any burnt food, sugar, or oil residue with a soft damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Even small deposits can cause localized overheating.
- Inspect bottom thermal fuse: Remove the bottom cover. Locate the thermal fuse or thermal cutoff attached to the heating plate wiring. Check for signs of overheating or discoloration. Test continuity with a multimeter; an open fuse must be replaced with the same rating.
- Check airflow: Ensure the base vents are not blocked by cloths or countertops. Clear any dust buildup around the fan (if fitted) and vents.
If E3 recurs with a clean plate and correct liquid levels, the heating plate assembly or main control PCB may be misregulating temperature and should be inspected by a technician.
