Possible Causes

Blocked pressure release valve or anti-block shield, Clogged float valve or vent pipe with food residue, Faulty pressure sensor on main PCB or pressure tube blockage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to depressurize naturally. Do not attempt to remove blockages while the unit is under pressure.

  • Clean steam release components: Remove the steam release valve cap and anti-block shield (metal or plastic cover under the lid). Wash them in warm soapy water, removing any starch or food particles. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Check float valve: Remove and clean the float valve and its silicone cap. Ensure it moves freely up and down and is not stuck with dried food.
  • Inspect pressure tube: On models with a silicone or metal pressure tube leading to a pressure sensor, check for kinks, blockages, or moisture. Clear any obstruction carefully.
  • Reassemble and test with water: Refit all parts correctly and run a short pressure test with water only. Observe if E5 reappears.

If E5 continues with clean valves and proper water level, the pressure sensor or main control board may be faulty and should be checked by a professional.
