E6 appears and the cooker will not start any pressure program; other non-pressure functions may still work.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening any covers. Ensure the cooker is not pressurized.
- Reset and test: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and try a non-pressure program (e.g. sauté). If only pressure modes show E6, focus on the pressure sensor path.
- Inspect pressure tube: On models with a silicone tube from the lid or steam vent to the pressure sensor, remove and check for blockages, moisture, or splits. Clean and dry thoroughly before refitting.
- Check sensor connector: Remove the bottom or side cover to access the main PCB. Locate the small pressure sensor module or connector. Reseat the plug firmly and inspect for corrosion or broken pins.
- Visual inspection: Look for burn marks or damage around the pressure sensor area on the PCB. Any visible damage usually requires board replacement.
Because pressure sensor calibration is critical to safety, if E6 persists after basic checks, have the pressure sensor or main PCB replaced by an authorized technician.
