Possible Causes
Faulty internal SMPS (switched-mode power supply) on main PCB, Loose mains input connector or damaged power cord, Overloaded mains circuit causing voltage drop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before any inspection. Do not operate with a damaged cord.
- Check mains outlet: Plug the cooker directly into a known-good wall socket. Avoid using long extension leads or sharing with high-power appliances (kettle, toaster).
- Inspect power cord: Examine the Tower power cord and plug for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Gently wiggle the cord at the entry point while the unit is off; if it feels loose, the internal connector may be failing.
- Open and inspect input area: Remove the housing to access the mains input terminals and filter board (if fitted). Tighten any loose screws and check for discoloration or heat damage.
- Observe during operation: If the display flickers or resets when the heater turns on, the internal power supply on the PCB may be failing and will need replacement.
Because mains circuitry is involved, ongoing E9 faults should be handled by a qualified appliance technician.
