Possible Causes
Misaligned lid locking pin, Faulty lid position microswitch in handle or hinge, Broken lid lock actuator or spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is not under pressure. Never force the lid closed.
- Check lid alignment: Open and close the lid several times, ensuring the alignment marks on the lid and body line up. Press down gently until you hear a clear click from the lock.
- Inspect locking pin: Look at the metal or plastic locking pin on the lid or body. Clean any food residue and ensure it moves freely in and out.
- Test lid switch: With the unit unplugged, locate the lid position switch (usually in the handle or under the top cover). Manually press the switch and listen for a click. If it feels stuck or does not click, it may need replacement.
- Check wiring: On hinged lids, inspect the cable running through the hinge for breaks. Reseat any connectors on the main PCB related to the lid switch.
If the lid error remains even when the lid is clearly locked, the lid switch assembly or main PCB input circuit is likely faulty and should be replaced.
