Possible Causes
Bent hinge pin on hinged models, Warped lid from impact or overheating, Dislodged sealing ring preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid closed; this can damage the lock and compromise safety.
- Remove and refit seal: Take out the silicone sealing ring and attempt to close the lid without it. If it closes easily, the ring may have been twisted or incorrectly seated.
- Inspect hinge: On hinged lids, check the hinge area for bent metal or cracked plastic. Tighten any loose hinge screws.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure no utensils, measuring cups, or debris are trapped between the lid and body.
- Assess lid shape: Look along the edge of the lid for warping. A significantly warped lid should be replaced.
If alignment cannot be restored with simple adjustments, replacing the lid assembly is recommended.
