Possible Causes
Lid not detected as closed by lid switch, Inner pot detection switch not engaged, Faulty Start/Cancel button or touch sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before inspecting internal switches.
- Confirm setup: Ensure the inner pot is correctly seated, the lid is properly closed and locked, and the steam release valve is in the correct position for the selected program.
- Check for error icons: Look for small lid or pot icons flashing on the display; these indicate which safety interlock is not satisfied.
- Inspect inner pot sensor: Some Tower models have a spring-loaded pin or microswitch under the heating plate that detects the pot. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck with food or corrosion.
- Test Start button: Press the Start/Cancel button repeatedly. If it feels mushy or unresponsive, the keypad may be failing and require replacement.
If all mechanical interlocks are working and the unit still will not start, the control PCB or keypad assembly may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
