Possible Causes
Partially failed heating element with increased resistance, Excessive scale or residue on heating plate, Poor contact between inner pot and heating plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool before cleaning or inspection.
- Clean contact surfaces: Remove the inner pot and clean both the pot bottom and heating plate with a soft cloth. Remove any burnt-on residue.
- Check inner pot flatness: Ensure the pot bottom is flat and not domed. Replace if warped.
- Measure heating element resistance: With the base cover removed and the unit unplugged, measure the element resistance. A significantly higher reading than specified can indicate a weakening element.
- Use warm water: Starting with warm tap water can reduce preheat time and help determine if the heater is underperforming.
If heating remains slow despite clean surfaces and a good pot, the heating plate assembly or control board may need replacement.
