Lid Perimeter Steam Leak
Steam leaks continuously from around the lid edge during pressure cooking, not just from the valve.

Possible Causes
Incorrectly fitted or stretched silicone sealing ring, Deformed lid or bent stainless-steel rim, Food debris trapped between lid and body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to tighten or force the lid while under pressure. Allow the cooker to depressurize naturally and cool.
- Remove and refit seal: Take out the silicone sealing ring, clean it and the lid groove thoroughly, then refit, ensuring it is not twisted and is fully seated all the way around.
- Inspect for damage: Check the ring for nicks, cuts, or areas that have thinned. Replace if any damage is found.
- Check lid and rim alignment: Look along the stainless-steel rim of the cooker for dents or bends. Minor bends can sometimes be gently straightened with padded pliers, but severe deformation requires professional repair.
- Test with water only: After refitting, run a short pressure cycle with water to confirm the leak is resolved.
Persistent leaks with a new seal may indicate a warped lid assembly, which should be replaced.
