Possible Causes

Food residues trapped under sealing ring, Condensation collector not emptied and cleaned, Porous silicone ring absorbing strong food odours

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and cool before cleaning.

  • Deep clean lid: Remove the sealing ring, anti-block shield, steam release valve, and float valve. Wash all removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  • Clean condensation collector: Remove and wash the condensation cup. Clean the rear of the cooker where it mounts.
  • Deodorize seal: Soak the silicone ring in a solution of warm water and baking soda (about 4 tbsp per litre) for 1–2 hours, then rinse and dry.
  • Store with lid inverted: Store the cooker with the lid upside down or slightly ajar to allow airflow and prevent odour buildup.

If odours persist, consider purchasing a replacement sealing ring and dedicating separate rings for savoury and sweet dishes.
