Possible Causes
Corrupted main control PCB, Loose display-to-main-board ribbon cable, Power supply section failure on PCB, Shorted component on logic board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before any inspection.
- Basic reset: Disconnect the cooker from mains for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and check if E6 clears.
- Check power outlet: Test the outlet with another appliance to ensure stable power. Avoid using long extension cords or power strips with high load.
- Inspect control panel (if accessible): Some Tristar models allow removal of the top control panel. If you are comfortable and the design permits, gently lift the panel and check that the ribbon cable between the display board and main PCB is fully seated.
- Look for moisture: Signs of condensation or liquid ingress around the control panel can cause E6. Allow the unit to dry in a warm, dry place for 24 hours if moisture is suspected.
If E6 persists, the main control PCB is likely defective and must be replaced. This is an advanced repair and is best handled by an authorized service center.
