Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the lid until pressure has dropped and the float valve is down.
- Verify liquid amount: Ensure you are using at least the minimum liquid specified in the Tristar manual (often 250–500 ml).
- Check lid seal and valves: Inspect the gasket, steam release valve, and float valve for leaks as described in other entries.
- Inspect inner pot bottom: Remove the pot and check that the bottom is flat and clean. A warped or dirty pot can reduce heat transfer.
- Test non-pressure mode: Run a sauté or browning program. If heating is weak or intermittent, the heating element or PCB may be failing.
If the unit consistently struggles to reach pressure despite proper sealing and liquid, have the heating system and sensors checked by a technician.
