Possible Causes
Damaged or missing float valve silicone cap, Food residue preventing float from sealing, Bent float pin, Excessive scale buildup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Cancel cooking and allow the unit to cool and depressurize before working on the float valve.
- Disassemble float valve: Remove the small retaining pin or screw holding the float. Take out the float and silicone cap.
- Clean components: Wash the float and cap in warm soapy water. Use a toothpick to clear any food from the float hole in the lid.
- Inspect silicone cap: Look for tears, hardening, or deformation. Replace if not perfectly round and flexible.
- Reassemble correctly: Ensure the cap is fully seated on the float stem and that the float moves freely up and down.
If the float valve still leaks after cleaning and cap replacement, the lid seat may be damaged and the lid assembly may need replacement.
