Possible Causes

Lid not fully locked, Faulty lid-closed microswitch, Blocked pressure sensor port, Damaged pressure sensor wiring to control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and completely depressurized before inspecting the lid or pressure components.

  • Verify lid installation: Align the Wolf Gourmet lid arrows and rotate until it is fully locked. Make sure the lid handle is in the correct position for pressure cooking.
  • Check the float/lock pin: Inspect the float valve and lock pin in the lid. Make sure they move freely up and down and are not stuck with dried food or starch. Clean with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  • Inspect the lid switch area: On many multicookers, a small tab on the lid actuates a lid-closed switch in the body. Check that the tab is not broken and that the switch actuator in the cooker rim is not jammed. Gently press it with a non-metallic tool to confirm free movement (unplugged only).
  • Clean pressure sensor port: If your model has a visible pressure sensor port or channel near the steam release, ensure it is not blocked by debris. Use a soft brush or toothpick carefully; do not enlarge the opening.
  • Test again: Reassemble, add water, and try a short pressure program. If E4 persists, the lid switch or pressure sensor may need replacement by a service technician.
