Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Clogged anti-block shield or steam cap, Faulty pressure sensor reading excessive pressure, Stuck float valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the cooker is hot or under pressure, do not remove the lid. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool until the float valve drops and pressure is fully released.
- Inspect steam release valve: Remove the steam release knob or cap (per Wolf Gourmet manual) and check for food particles or starch buildup. Wash thoroughly with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry.
- Clean anti-block shield: If your lid has a removable anti-block shield or steam cap over the vent, remove it and clean both sides. Ensure all small holes are clear.
- Check float valve: Push the float valve up and down from inside the lid. It should move freely and seal properly with its silicone gasket. Clean and re-seat the gasket if needed.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall all lid components correctly. Add at least 2 cups of water to the inner pot and run a short pressure program. Watch for normal steam release behavior.
- Persistent E5: If E5 returns with clean components, the pressure sensor or control board may be misreading pressure. This requires professional diagnosis and replacement.
