Possible Causes

Inner pot still very hot from previous cycle, Overheated heating plate, Faulty temperature sensor reading high when cool

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling a hot inner pot or lid.

  • Allow cooling time: Remove the inner pot and place it on a heat-safe surface. Leave the cooker open and unplugged for 20–30 minutes to cool.
  • Check for burned-on food: If food is stuck or burned on the bottom of the pot, soak and clean it thoroughly. Burned residue can cause localized overheating.
  • Restart with water: After cooling, add at least 1–2 cups of water to the pot and start a low-temperature program. If "HOT" still appears immediately, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
  • Service if persistent: A sensor that reads hot when the unit is cool will need to be replaced along with any damaged wiring.
