Possible Causes
Probe not fully inserted into jack, Damaged probe cable, Broken probe tip sensor, Faulty probe input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before inspecting the probe jack or cable.
- Check probe connection: Firmly insert the Wolf Gourmet temperature probe plug into the probe jack until it clicks or seats fully. Partial insertion can cause detection errors.
- Inspect probe cable: Look for cuts, kinks, or melted sections on the cable. Do not use a damaged probe.
- Test probe in cold and warm water: With the cooker in probe mode (if allowed), place the probe tip in ice water and then warm water. Watch for reasonable temperature changes on the display. If the reading is erratic or absent, the probe is likely faulty.
- Try a known-good probe: If available, test with another compatible Wolf Gourmet probe. If the error persists, the probe input circuit on the control board may be defective.
- Replace as needed: Replace the probe first; if that does not resolve the issue, seek service for the control board.
