Possible Causes

Open-circuit main NTC sensor on inner pot base, Broken sensor wiring harness to main board, Oxidized or loose sensor connector on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker from the mains and allow it to cool completely before opening any covers. Never work on the unit while it is connected to power.

  • Power reset: Disconnect the cooker for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in and try a simple program (e.g., Keep Warm). If E1 reappears immediately, continue.
  • Check inner pot and base: Remove the inner pot and inspect the central temperature sensor area on the base plate. Make sure there is no burnt food, corrosion, or deformation that could stress the sensor.
  • Access bottom panel: With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover (usually several Phillips screws). Locate the main NTC sensor (small metal probe or disc under the heater plate) and follow its wires to the control board.
  • Inspect wiring and connector: Look for broken, pinched, or burnt wires. Reseat the sensor connector on the PCB by unplugging and firmly reconnecting it. Clean any visible oxidation with contact cleaner and a cotton swab.
  • Basic resistance check (for experienced users): Using a multimeter set to kΩ, measure the resistance of the NTC sensor at room temperature. Typical NTCs are in the 50–100 kΩ range at 25°C (consult Xiaomi service data if available). If the reading is infinite (open circuit) or wildly off, the sensor is defective.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the bottom cover, ensure all screws are tight, then test again with a short program. If E1 persists after wiring and connector checks, the NTC sensor assembly should be replaced.
  • When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable using a multimeter or accessing internal wiring, or if replacing the sensor does not clear E1, contact an authorized Xiaomi service center as the main control board may be faulty.
