Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around control board, Failing cooling fan (on fan-equipped models), Overheated power components on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately unplug the cooker if you smell burning. Do not continue using it until inspected.
- Check placement: Ensure the cooker is used on a hard, heat-resistant surface with at least several centimeters of clearance on all sides. Do not place it in enclosed cabinets while operating.
- Inspect vents: Look for dust buildup or obstructions in side and bottom vents. Clean gently with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Fan check (if present): Some Xiaomi models have a small internal fan. Listen for fan operation during cooking. If the fan is silent or noisy, it may be failing.
- Open housing (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the cover to inspect the PCB. Look for darkened areas, burnt components, or melted plastic near power resistors or regulators.
- Replace failing fan: If the fan is seized or noisy, replace it with a compatible 12 V or 24 V fan as specified for your model.
- PCB replacement: If components on the board are visibly burnt or E14 recurs after cleaning and fan replacement, replace the main control PCB.
- Do not bypass sensors: Never bypass thermal sensors or fuses to stop E14; this can lead to fire hazards.
