Possible Causes
Inner pot not detected or not seated properly, Running cooker without inner pot or with very low contents, Faulty dry-burn sensor or thermal fuse on heater plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool completely before further checks.
- Verify inner pot presence: Ensure the original Xiaomi inner pot is installed, clean, and seated flat on the heater plate. Third-party or warped pots may not make proper contact.
- Check for foreign objects: Remove the pot and inspect the heater plate for debris, foil, or utensils that could prevent contact or cause hot spots.
- Avoid dry cooking: Never start a program without sufficient water or food. Follow Xiaomi’s minimum liquid guidelines for each mode.
- Clean and inspect: Wipe the heater plate and central sensor area. Look for discoloration or burn marks indicating repeated overheating.
- Reset and test: After cooling, plug in and test with a simple rice or porridge program with adequate water. If E6 appears immediately, internal protection components may be faulty.
- Internal check (advanced): Remove the bottom cover and inspect the thermal fuse and dry-burn sensor on the heater plate. Check for open-circuit thermal fuse using a multimeter.
- Replace damaged parts: If the thermal fuse is open or the dry-burn sensor is defective, replace the heater plate assembly or the individual components as designed for your Xiaomi model.
- Professional repair: If E6 persists after verifying pot, contents, and replacing protection components, the control board may be misreading temperature and should be serviced.
