Possible Causes
Faulty lid lock microswitch, Misaligned lid locking mechanism, Broken lid lock actuator or spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before manipulating the lid lock mechanism.
- Check lid closure: Close the lid firmly until you hear a clear click. If the lid feels loose or does not latch, inspect the locking ring and handle.
- Inspect lock components: With the lid open, examine the lock hook, spring, and plastic guides. Look for broken pieces or obstructions.
- Clean around lock: Food residue can prevent the lock from engaging. Clean the lock area with a damp cloth and a small brush, then dry thoroughly.
- Test microswitch (advanced): With the unit unplugged and covers removed, locate the lid lock microswitch. Manually actuate the lock and listen for a click from the switch. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when engaged.
- Adjust or replace lock: If the lock does not fully engage the switch, adjust the lock position if possible or replace the lid lock assembly and/or microswitch with Xiaomi-compatible parts.
- Reassemble and test: After repair, reassemble the housing and test with a non-pressure program first, then a short pressure program with water only.
- Service if unresolved: If E9 persists despite a functioning lock and switch, the control board input circuit may be defective and requires professional diagnosis.
