Possible Causes
Lid not fully locked, Lid position microswitch misaligned, Damaged lid locking pin, Debris on lid locking mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Zavor multicooker and allow it to cool completely before inspecting the lid or lock mechanism.
- Check lid alignment: Open the lid fully, then close it firmly. On most Zavor models, align the arrows on the lid and housing, then rotate until you hear/feel a click.
- Inspect the locking pin: Look at the metal or plastic locking pin on the lid and the corresponding slot on the cooker body. Remove any food residue or dried starch with a damp cloth. Do not use sharp tools that could deform the pin.
- Test lid switch movement: With the unit unplugged, gently press the lid lock area and observe if the internal switch or tab moves freely. If it feels stuck, clean around it and lightly wiggle it free—do not force it.
- Power reset: Plug the cooker back in, close and lock the lid, and select a short program (e.g., Steam for 1–2 minutes) to see if the error clears.
- If E1 persists: The lid position microswitch or lid lock assembly may be faulty and should be replaced. This typically requires opening the top cover; if you are not comfortable with electrical work, contact a qualified technician.
