Possible Causes

Food burned onto inner pot bottom, Blocked temperature sensor under inner pot, Failed NTC temperature sensor, Poor contact between inner pot and heating plate

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool completely. Do not add water to a hot dry pot to cool it quickly, as this can warp the pot.

  • Remove and clean inner pot: Take out the stainless steel inner pot. If there is burnt food stuck to the bottom, soak it in warm soapy water and scrub gently with a non-abrasive pad.
  • Clean heating plate and sensor: Inside the cooker base, gently wipe the heating plate and the small raised temperature sensor disc with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Remove any starch, oil, or debris. Dry thoroughly.
  • Check pot contact: Place the empty inner pot back in and rotate it slightly to ensure it sits flat and makes full contact with the heating plate.
  • Restart with adequate liquid: When cooking under pressure, always use at least the minimum liquid specified in the Zavor manual (often around 1–1.5 cups). Running the cooker nearly dry can trigger E3.
  • If E3 recurs immediately: The bottom temperature sensor (NTC) may be faulty or detached from the heating plate and will need replacement.
