Possible Causes
Damaged silicone sealing ring, Misaligned lid, Steam release valve left in Venting position, Worn float valve silicone cap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool and depressurized before removing the lid or seals.
- Check steam release position: Verify that the steam release handle/knob is set to the Sealing position before starting a pressure program.
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Look for cracks, warping, or food residue. Wash it in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. If it is stretched, hardened, or damaged, replace it.
- Check lid seating: Reinstall the sealing ring firmly in its groove. Close the lid and ensure it locks smoothly without excessive play.
- Inspect float valve and cap: Make sure the float valve moves freely and the small silicone cap on its stem is not cracked or missing. Replace if worn.
- Test with water only: Add about 2 cups of water, close the lid, set to Sealing, and run a short pressure cycle. If it reaches and holds pressure, the issue was likely the seal or valve position.
- If E6 persists: The pressure sensor or lid assembly may be faulty and require replacement.
