Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Misaligned lid detection magnet or reed switch, Broken lid hinge, Debris preventing lid from locking
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and cool before manipulating the lid.
- Re-seat the lid: Open and close the lid several times, making sure to align the arrows and rotate until it locks firmly.
- Clean lid rim and body: Wipe the lid rim and cooker body rim to remove food residue that may prevent full closure.
- Check hinge and lock: Inspect the hinge area for cracks or deformation. Verify that the locking tab moves freely when you open and close the lid.
- Magnet/sensor check (if applicable): Some Zavor models use a magnet and reed switch. Ensure the magnet is still embedded in the lid and has not fallen out. If missing, the lid assembly must be replaced.
- If lid message persists: The lid detection switch or associated wiring may be faulty and should be replaced.
