Display shows "OPEN" and the cooker will not build pressure or start a pressure program.

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is not under pressure before adjusting the lid.

• Lock the lid: Place the lid on the cooker, align the marks, and rotate until it locks. You should feel resistance and a click.
• Set valve to Sealing: Turn the steam release knob/handle to the Sealing position.
• Check sealing ring: Confirm that the silicone sealing ring is properly seated in the lid groove and not twisted.
• Restart program: Select your desired pressure program again and press Start. If "OPEN" still appears, gently press down on the lid to see if the sensor engages.
• If unresolved: The lid position sensor or lock mechanism may be misaligned or defective and require adjustment or replacement.
