Multicooker will not start cooking; display shows E01 shortly after pressing START.

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting the lid mechanism. Do not bypass safety switches.

• Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly until you hear a distinct click. Make sure no rice grains, gasket folds, or utensils are trapped in the rim.
• Inspect the lid latch: Look at the metal or plastic latch hook on the lid and the catch on the body. Clean away any dried food with a damp cloth. If the latch is bent, gently straighten it with your fingers or small pliers.
• Check lid hinge alignment: With the unit unplugged, slowly close the lid and observe whether the latch lines up with the catch. If the hinge screws are loose (on some models), tighten them with a small screwdriver.
• Test the lid switch: With the unit still unplugged, locate the small lid-closed switch or pin near the hinge or latch area. Press it by hand; it should move freely and click. If it is stuck, clean around it with a cotton swab lightly dampened with water and dry thoroughly.
• Reset and test: Plug the unit back in, close the lid firmly, and start a short cooking cycle. If E01 persists, the lid switch assembly may need replacement.

When to call a technician: If the lid switch is loose inside the housing, has broken wires, or does not click at all, internal disassembly is required and should be done by a qualified technician.
