Possible Causes
Out-of-tolerance NTC sensor, incorrect calibration data in control board, poor sensor contact with cavity, intermittent sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before testing components.
- Compare actual vs displayed temperature: Use an oven thermometer to check the actual temperature at a setpoint (e.g. 180°C). If the display shows F10 or a large discrepancy, suspect the sensor or calibration.
- Sensor test: Remove and measure the NTC sensor at room temperature and at a known warm temperature (e.g. 100°C in hot water, sensor tip only). Resistance should change smoothly. Erratic readings indicate a failing sensor.
- Replace sensor: If readings are unstable or out of spec, install a new AEG-compatible NTC sensor.
- Control calibration: Some AEG models allow minor temperature offset adjustment via the user menu. Consult the user manual. If F10 persists, the control board may need replacement or reprogramming.
Warning: Avoid immersing the entire sensor in water; only the probe tip should be heated during testing.
