Possible Causes
Failed NTC temperature sensor reading too low, stuck relay on power board, blocked cooling airflow around oven, faulty safety thermostat (overheat cut-out)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the mains. Allow the oven to cool fully before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure cabinet cut-outs and ventilation slots above and below the oven are not blocked. Remove any items stored directly above the oven that may restrict airflow.
- Inspect cooling fan operation: Restore power and start a low-temperature program. Confirm that the top cooling fan starts within a few minutes. If it does not run, the oven may overheat and trigger F2. With power off again, check the fan connector and spin the fan by hand to ensure it is free.
- Test temperature sensor: As with F1, measure the NTC sensor resistance at room temperature. A reading significantly lower than specification can cause the control to think the oven is hotter than it is, triggering F2. Replace the sensor if out of spec.
- Check safety thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat (usually on the top or rear of the oven casing). Some models have a manual reset button; press it if present. If the thermostat is open-circuit and non-resettable, replace it.
- Control/relay issue: If the heating elements stay on even when the oven is off, a stuck relay on the power board is likely. In this case, the power board should be replaced by a professional.
Warning: Overheating can damage surrounding cabinetry. Do not continue using the oven until the cause is identified.
