Possible Causes

Open-circuit main heating element, failed grill element, faulty relay on power module, loose element wiring connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing any panels.

  • Visual element check: Inspect the visible elements (grill/top and bottom) for breaks, blisters, or burn marks. A visibly broken element must be replaced.
  • Continuity test: Access the rear of the oven and disconnect the element terminals. Use a multimeter to check continuity. A healthy element typically shows 15–60 Ω depending on type. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
  • Check connectors: Ensure spade connectors are tight and not heat-damaged. Replace any burnt terminals and crimp new insulated connectors if needed.
  • Relay/power board: If all elements test good, the fault may be on the power module or main control board (relay not energising). Listen for relay clicks when starting a program. No click plus good elements suggests a board fault.
  • Replace faulty element: Remove fixing screws or brackets, slide the element out, transfer any insulation or brackets, and install the new AEG-compatible element. Reconnect wiring exactly as original.

Warning: Incorrect wiring of elements can cause short circuits and fire risk. Take photos before disconnecting wires.
