Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, failed touch control panel, faulty main control board, moisture ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Leave the oven powered off for 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then restore power. If F6 clears temporarily but returns, suspect an intermittent connection.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the front control panel (usually by removing screws along the top or sides). Carefully pull it forward to access the ribbon cables.
- Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable(s) between the user interface (UI) and the main control board. Ensure they are fully inserted and locked.
- Check for moisture/grease: Look for signs of condensation or grease on the back of the touch panel. Gently clean with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners on the electronics.
- Component replacement: If the error persists, either the UI board or the main control board is likely faulty. Replacement typically requires ordering the exact AEG part number from the rating plate/model documentation.
Warning: Static discharge can damage electronic boards. Ground yourself before touching PCB contacts.
