Possible Causes

Seized fan motor, worn motor bearings, obstruction in fan blades, failed fan motor capacitor (if fitted), open fan motor winding

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power. Fan blades can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.

  • Check for obstruction: Remove the fan cover inside the oven and inspect for loose screws, foil, or food debris jamming the fan.
  • Spin test: Gently rotate the fan by hand. It should move freely. Stiff or grinding movement indicates worn bearings or a seized motor.
  • Access motor: From the rear, remove the panel to expose the fan motor. Inspect wiring and connectors.
  • Test motor: Measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit suggests a failed motor. If a capacitor is fitted, test or replace it.
  • Replace fan motor: Fit a new AGA fan motor if seized or electrically open. Ensure the fan blade is correctly refitted and not rubbing on the cover.
