Possible Causes
Compressed or torn door gasket, missing gasket clips, warped door, incorrect replacement seal fitted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the oven to cool before touching the door seal.
- Inspect gasket: Run your fingers around the entire seal to feel for gaps, tears, or hardened sections.
- Check retention: Ensure the gasket is properly seated in its channel or on its hooks. Refit any loose sections.
- Paper test: Close the door on a strip of paper at various points. If the paper pulls out easily without resistance, the seal is not tight in that area.
- Replace gasket: Remove the old seal by pulling it out of the channel or off the hooks. Clean the channel and fit a new AGA-specific door gasket, pressing it fully into place.
- Verify door alignment: If leaks persist with a new seal, check and adjust hinges to ensure even pressure around the door.
