Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker, blown internal fuse on AGA control board, loose mains terminal block connection, faulty mains switch or isolator, failed power PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Before opening any panels, ensure the cooker is isolated at the consumer unit. Only qualified persons should work on mains connections.

  • Check household supply: Verify that the circuit breaker or fuse feeding the AGA oven has not tripped or blown. Reset or replace if necessary, but investigate the cause of any repeated trips.
  • Inspect external isolator: Confirm that the cooker switch (if fitted) is on and not damaged.
  • Check mains terminal block: Remove the rear cover to access the mains terminal block. Look for loose screws, heat discoloration, or melted insulation. Tighten connections to the specified torque.
  • Internal fuses: Many AGA ovens have internal glass or cartridge fuses on the power PCB. Test and replace only with identical ratings.
  • Power PCB test: If supply and fuses are good but there is still no display or response, the power/control PCB may have failed and should be replaced by an AGA technician.
