Possible Causes
Failed base element, loose or burnt connectors, open thermal cut-out in base circuit, control PCB output failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power.
- Access base element: Depending on model, remove the oven floor panel or access from the rear to reach the base element terminals.
- Visual check: Inspect the element for swelling, cracks, or burn marks.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the element and test with a multimeter. Replace if open circuit.
- Check wiring and cut-outs: Inspect wiring for heat damage and test any inline thermostats for continuity.
- Replace element or PCB: Fit a new AGA base element if faulty. If the element and wiring are good, the control PCB output for the base element may be defective.
