Possible Causes
Heating element shorted to chassis, damaged insulation on element wiring, moisture in element or wiring, failed suppression components on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the consumer unit. Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips when the oven is used.
- Visual inspection of elements: Remove the rear panel and inspect all heating elements (bake, grill, fan element) for visible cracks, bulges, or burn marks where they pass through the rear wall.
- Insulation test: With all wires disconnected from the elements, use a megohmmeter (insulation tester) between each element terminal and chassis. Low insulation resistance indicates a shorted element that must be replaced.
- Check wiring harness: Look for wires pinched between panels or with melted insulation touching metal. Repair or replace as needed.
- Dry moisture: If the fault appeared after heavy steam or cleaning, allow the oven to dry for 24 hours with the door open, then retest. Persistent F6 indicates a hardware fault.
- Replace faulty element or PCB: Replace any element with poor insulation resistance. If all elements and wiring test good, the control PCB or filter board may have a ground fault and should be replaced.
