Possible Causes
Open broil heating element, Loose or burnt broil element connection, Failed broil relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing.
- Inspect broil element: Look at the upper element for breaks, blisters, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
- Continuity test: Access the broil element terminals from the rear. Disconnect wires and measure resistance; an open reading means the element is bad.
- Check terminals: Tighten any loose screws and replace burnt terminals or wiring with high-temp wire.
- Control board test: If the element and wiring are good, test for voltage at the element during a broil call. If no voltage is present, replace the EOC.
Warning: Only perform live voltage tests if you are qualified; otherwise, contact a technician.
